Male Jewelry, Complicated Market Segmentation For Male Silver And Gold Jewelry

Male Jewelry, Market Segmentation

Being a jeweler is not easy these days, subdued markets and changing buyer patterns are two of the main factors that bring uncertainity to the markets. Male jewelry is a good example of how, jewelry manufacturers need to adjust to suit market and economic conditions.

The demand for male jewelry in terms of volume, has surely shown an increase. What is interesting is the metal choice for male jewelry during the past few years. Before gold prices looked for the sky, men chose male gold jewelry. It was taken for granted that silver male jewelry would lack the quality of gold jewelry. Even at this point of time, there were a group of buyers who preferred silver to gold. Price was not an issue with them, they adored the quiet confident feel and look of male 925 silver jewelry. This buyer group wanted good quality jewelry, remember they were not the 'cheap' jewelry hunter group.

The high rise in gold prices, worked to boost the demand for male silver jewelry. Once again, buyers who were exposed to quality gold jewelry insisted on quality. This buyer group is expected to show rapid growth mainly because, the price of gold does not look like cooling off in the next few years. You might find that a portion of these buyers look for silver male jewelry that is plated in gold, rhodium or even platinum. Remember that they like gold jewelry and were pushed towards silver mainly for economic reasons. From the view point of the jeweler, it is necessary to explain the concept of plating silver jewelry, also the lifespan of the plating. This is a new role to play for the jeweler, as he would be dealing with a buyer who does not really adore silver jewelry but is after the metal to economize on budgets.

So you have two distinctly different group of male silver jewelry buyers, the jeweler needs to adjust to both groups. And ofcourse, you have the bargain hunter, looking for silver jewelry only because he or she feels that silver jewelry will be very cheap! In this case, price points are critical - the lower the price tag the wider and higher the appeal. Quality can take a back seat but, remember that this is true ONLY for this select group of cheap jewelry hunters.

Kaisilver has always given equal attention, care and importance to both gold and 925 sterling silver jewelry. This has impressed male jewelry buyers who have, decided to remain with us irrespective of a change in metal choice. It is important to understand what you should expect and demand when looking for quality male jewelry. This will remain true for both gold or 925 silver male jewelry. Get an idea of the kind of quality you deserve when ordering your male jewelry, the report can be reviewed at http://www.jewellery.kaijewels.com/male-jewelry.htm

Men's Rings, White Topaz Gemstone Ring For Men

Mens White Topaz Gemstone Ring.

The MAN75 Kaisilver mens white topaz ring, has surprised quite a few jewelry buyers. When most of us think of topaz rings, we take it for granted that the ring would have a topaz gem with one of the blue shades of topaz. The interest in this white topaz ring, was quite predictable - queries came from casual website visitors too. In this brief write up, we will explain some very interesting facts related to white topaz gemstones.

Many people wanted to know whether, white topaz gems were natural. They had seen mens topaz gemstone rings with sky blue, swiss blue and london blue topaz stones but never, white topaz. The surprising fact is that, most (almost 90%) of the rough topaz that is white in color. The raw stone might not be pure white but, can generally be heated to become very white. Contrast this to the fact that, almost 70% of the topaz gems reaching the gems and jewelry markets is blue in color! This does prove to be a confusing situation, but there is a logical reason for this.

White topaz is treated to change it to a blue color, the shades of blue can vary from a very pale blue (sky blue) to a deep saturated (london blue) color. Somewhere in between these two extremes, is a much brighter blue topaz, this is called swiss blue topaz.

If you are looking for a topaz men's ring, give the white topaz gem a look. The affordability of this gem even in sizes as large as 4 to 6 carats opens up great opportunities to the gem and jewelry lover. It is also possible to get speciality cuts, like multi faceted checkerboard, or a combination of a cabachon (on top) and faceted (from below) white topaz stone. At Kaisilver, complete control over the entire production process, makes it possible to choose the gem cutting type that you need for the white topaz stone in your gold or silver mens ring.

We have shown the MAN75 mens white topaz ring in yellow gold, however you have all metal options to choose from when ordering your ring. 14k and 18k mens rings are available in yellow and white gold. The good news is that a silver mens white topaz ring, would have the same quality of design, craftsmanship and gem stone as the gold ring. This is very important, since high gold prices has seen a growing interest in highend sterling silver jewelry. We have more details on this mens ring with white topaz at http://www.jewellery.kaijewels.com/man75-mens-white-topaz-ring-kj-01.htm You can ofcourse contact our support experts at sales@kaisilver.com if you have any queries or requirements.

A mens claddagh ring is worn for something more than fashion or style. You would be very interested to know that a claddagh ring for men, keeps alive a tradition that is almost 4 centuries old. The features of a gold or 925 silver mens claddagh ring, have a meaning that is unmatched by any other jewel in history. Kai Silver experts have done enough research on this amazing jewel to call it, one of the most meaningful jewels in history.

You do not need to be an expert in mens jewelry to be aware that, this is one of the very few (probably the only) heart shaped ring that men would like to wear. When you get a mens claddagh ring, you need to ensure that you have it personalized as much as possible. For example, the MAN14 Kaisilver custom mens claddagh ring is shown here with an amethyst gem. But if you wanted to have this same ring made in sterling silver instead of gold with, a blue topaz gem - we can do it without a problem. The best thing is that when you shift your metal choice to silver, we still ensure that you get the same quality of design, gem and craftsmanship.

Many jewelers provide a hurried ring resizing service and refer to the jewel as a, custom made jewel. You will get a truly personalized mens claddagh ring in gold or silver when you with Kaisilver for your requirement. For example, the gem stone in your claddagh ring can be decided by you. You could request for an overall dimension change for your 925 silver or gold mens claddagh ring. If you wish to wear your claddagh ring for special occasion like a wedding or engagement, we can even set diamonds in the crown. The option for etching a name or other short message in the band is also available at no additional charge.

We do sometimes get a request from buyers to custom make a claddagh mens ring with no crown. We can ofcourse do this for you but would like to explain some facts here. The features of your claddagh ring is what gives the jewel it's meaning. This jewel is often referred to as the love, friendship and loyalty ring. The crown, hands and heart are the 3 essential features of the jewel. The crown shows loyalty, the hand symbolize friendship and togetherness and the heart ofcourse denotes love.

We do not claim to be the only source for a claddagh ring but, we are undoubtedly the best. To support this claim, we are proud to state that many Kaisilver claddagh ring buyers are actually from Ireland. You might want to know that, Ireland is where the first claddagh ring came from around 375 years ago. Gemstone Rings, How Small Gem Size Can Moderate Price Tags

Choosing Gem Size To Moderate Ring Price

It would be wonderful if all of us could buy jewelry equipped with generous budgets, unfortunately this is just not feasible for most of us. In this report on gem size and ring price, we look at how the gem stone size in a gold or silver ring can help to tone down the overall price of the jewel.

This is very relevant for gem stone jewelry made in gold in current times. High gold prices has sent gold jewelry prices racing upwards. Add the gemstone cost component and you will see that getting a gold gem stone jewel can do damage to your wallet! In this scenario, jewelry lovers look for options that can help them reduce price points. If this can be done without affecting the quality of the jewelry, it is even more welcome.

Emeralds, rubies, sapphires and ofcourse diamonds can be grouped in the category of 'expensive' gems. This will be true if the gemstone in your ring had a medium or good grade stone. Another thing about the gems in this category is that, the price (per carat) moves up steeply as the size of the stone increases. This will be true even if the quality of the gem stone for a big size and small size is the same. This price behaviour pattern requires that the gem size not be too big. If you get a gem stone ring with a large gem but a low price tag, the quality of the gem stone would be quite low. On the other if your gem stone ring has a gem, that is modestly size chances are that, you will end up getting better quality at a good price point.

Let us take the RG153 Kaisilver emerald and diamond ring as an example. This gemstone is a 5mm or 6mm emerald, the side diamonds are optional. Like all other Kaisilver jewelry, this emerald diamond ring can also be ordered in gold or 925 sterling silver. The gemstone size in this ring cuts a good equation between price and quality, the fine band around the ring ensures that the gem does not appear very tiny. If you are worried about durability of the gold or silver mounting for this ring, rest assured that it is taken of. Your gold or 925 sterling silver emerald gem stone ring, will have no scooping done inside the band. This will help make it sturdy and strong. It is very unlikely that many other jewelers would make this ring without metal (especially gold) scooping inside the band.

There are some scenarios in which a small gem stone ring looks fine and well proportioned, there are other cases where a small gem stone in a ring might make the jewel appear strange and unsuitable. Let us say that you wanted an emerald ring with a size of around 5 to 7 (U.S size) and were on a tight budget. A small gem stone size ring would come as a blessing to you. The overall ring proportions would be quite fine too. At that point, you can decide on a gold or 925 silver emerald ring and further customize the price to fit your budget.

We must now tackle the situation where, the ring size would be quite large. If you still went with the RG153 Kaisilver emerald ring concept and used a 6mm emerald gem, the ring might appear distorted and out of place. At the same time, if you went for a 7mm round emerald the cost could shoot up and push the ring out of your budget. So one option would be to probably use more than one emerald in the ring but, stay within a gem size of 5mm. You might be surprised but it is quite possible that, three round emeralds of size 5mm could be cheaper than one single emerald of size 7mm.

Regarding personal preferences there are some cases where the gem size is really not relevant. For example, if you did not really adore the emerald but were inclined to wear it as it is the May birth stone, you might be very satisfied with a small emerald gem stone in your gold or silver birthstone ring. A similar logic could apply if you wore a gem stone ring because you believed that it could have some special powers or significance. What we mean to say is that, in such cases a larger gem stone size would not imply any more powers or significance for the gem.

A classic example of how important rings need not have large gems was demonstrated in an interesting find in the U.K. In July 2011 a British railyway technician and metal expert found an antique ring. British experts concluded that the ring would most probably have been made around the 7th to 11th century. What was more important is that, it was found that the jewel would likely be worn by some royal personality - this could be of Anglo-Saxon or Viking origin. The thing that amazed Kaisilver experts was that, the antique gold ring with a royal history, had a fairly ordinary 6mm round cabachon blue sapphire in the center. It seemed that there were red gems too but, on closer inspection it was found that the red 'stones' were infact pieces of glass. It has not been possible for us to get close details of the jewel since it has now been declared as state property and is kept in the custody of a British museum. The important conclusion that Kai Silver experts came up with is that, the jewel was worn more for it's meaning than as a show of power and wealth.

Blue Gemstone Heart Pendant, Suitable Gems For Big Blue Stone Pendants

Gem Choice For A Big Blue Gemstone Heart Pendant

In a recent survey we asked a select group of jewelry lovers a few questions. One question was related to the big blue stone pendant worn by Kate Winslet in the movie Titanic. We wanted to know what gemstone they thought was set in the heart pendant set in the movie. Almost 95% of the responses confidently claimed that the heart shaped blue stone in the pendant was a blue sapphire. They also commented that the gems that surrounded the center heart sapphire were diamonds!

On a similar note we asked the group what gem they would like to have in a large blue stone heart pendant that, had a gem size of around 30 to 50 carats. Once again, the answer was blue sapphire. Yes indeed, many people know just a few blue stones and one is blue sapphire. Just like the red gem that most people are aware of is, a ruby. Similarly many people are under the impression that all green gemstones are emeralds!.

Now let us climb into a dream world, let us presume that you were dying to have a big sapphire heart pendant. The gem size that you are interested is around 20mm to 25mm heart shape. To put this in perspective of weight, the gem big heart sapphire would weigh around 40 carats to 60 carats. Now let us throw around some figures of what you would be expected to pay for such a pendant.

If you had settled for a medium grade blue sapphire from Thailand that was around 30 to 40 carats, the heart pendant would cost you around 400,000 U.S$ to 600,000 U.S$. At the other extreme, had you intended to get a good blue ceylon sapphire heart gemstone for your pendant, would end up paying around 1.8 to 2 million U.S$ for the gemstone,

Even a casual glance at those pricings would tell you that, we are wasting our time by considering a big blue sapphire heart pendant. So what we will be better doing now is to check the options for affordable gem options for a big blue heart pendant. In the opaque gem range, you could try blue turquoise or blue lapis. Move into the transparent gem category and not many options would exist. One of the most suitable gems for a big blue gem heart pendant would undoubtedly be, blue topaz. The three shades of blue topaz namely sky blue, swiss blue and london blue are modestly priced in the 30 carat to 40 carat gem size range.

One important point that we need to clarify now is that, the gems we are talking about are natural gems. You might come across big heart pendants that have synthetic blue stones or even, simple glass pieces cut to a heart shape. Kaisilver can custom make a big blue gemstone heart pendant for you with the design of your choice. The best part of working with us is that, you get the same quality of design, craftsmanship and gems for gold or 925 sterling silver jewelry.

The above report is compiled by the experts at Kaisilver. We will love to hear your comments or suggestions so do email our support experts at sales@kaisilver.com You can also see more information on blue heart pendants at http://www.kaisilver.com/blue-heart-pendant-blue-gemstone-choice-ks-01.htm
