Cage Ring, Adding Significance To A Multi Gemstone Cage Ring

The RG231 image shows a classic cage ring in white gold with blue topaz gemstones. At the first glance, this might seem like any other ring with many gems but, there is more to it. By selectively choosing the gem stones for your gold cage ring, you can actually add meaning to the ring. A cage ring can be made with anywhere between 1 gemstone and 10-15 gems. For example, a large blue topaz gemstone could have been cut to fill the entire cage. A lady could wear a multi gem stone cage ring that includes her birthstone and the birth stone of her husband or lover. In this case each gemstone would be skillfully cut, both gems would combine to form a dome shape. The cage would then be set above these gems. The cage in this birthstone ring would mean the world, the birthstones implying a commitment or feeling of togetherness.

Do not forget that the cage also provides good protection to the gemstone(s) inside the cage. If you had to make a ring with a gemstone that was not too hard, choosing the cage ring design would protect the gemstones from physical impact. If you would like to have a men's cage ring, consider changing the shape of the cage to an oval or rectangular shape. Most men's cage rings would have a single gemstone in the cage.

As a jewel for casual wear, you could combine gems of different colors in your cage ring. For example, consider combining white topaz, blue topaz and pink topaz gems in the same cage ring. Another interesting color compination would be to combine green peridot, yellow citrine and deep red garnets in a single cage ring. The possibilities are many, a custom cage ring would even allow you to choose the shape and size of the cage.

Understanding the meaning of a cage ring allows you to evaluate various options. You could wear a cage ring for it's sheer beauty or own the ring for it's deeper meaning and significance.
